I'm part of a Moleskine Sketchbook Exchange [aka Moly X 70]. I made a banner for the blog.
I just finished my entry into Carolina Espinosa's Alice in Wonderland themed sketchbook. I had too many ideas but because the previous entries involved the Rose Garden, I settled on the Queen and King of Hearts.
The King and Queen are always portrayed old, why not a young pair of royalty, too immature for their crowns? It also confused me in Sir John Tenniel's illustrations as to why the Queen and King were the only exception to not being cards. I like Edmund Dulac's interpretation much better because he combined the inanimate playing card and human qualities.

They're awesome!!! XOXO

Me, Johnny and Ste have been working on an Alice in Wonderland inspired game for the last six years now. We've only 'just' decided on a name for the game (I think) and the main character's name has changed three times so far... no four times. Hang on...I'm making us sound badly organised!!
Anyway, we love your artwork XX

There's just waaaay too many directions one can go with Alice.
That could be a metaphor.
